Even though the cultural significance of Iona is one of the main reasons for people to travel to Iona, they usually just visit the Abby, feel touched by the beauty and calmness of the island but then leave again. Iona is worth exploring- spiritually, i.e. doing observations at special sites and to hear and learn about its sacred past and present. It is a holy place - even today!
